Hair Soaks Up Oil Spills
Cary O'Brien's Design & Color Spa is helping to
clean up the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico!
How? You ask...
By sending all of the hair we collect after a haircut.
The organization MATTERS OF TRUST is collecting loose hair from salons and pet groomers, making hair mats or stuffing it into nylon stockings which are then doubled up and tied together to make "booms" that surround and contain as well as soak up oil spills.

You see, we ALL shampoo our hair because hair collects oil. MATTERS OF TRUST is taking the excess hair created everyday in salons and putting it to good use, in the name of our environment.
Once used, the oily hair booms and mats are then re-collected, and sent to various studies aimed to provide insight into closed-loop systems for oil spill recovery. Worms and mushrooms then reduce the mats and after a few months, the result is a rich, natural, fertilizer.

SO COME IN, GET A HAIRCUT; LET YOUR HAIR HELP OUT THE GULF OF MEXICO!
You can also help by bringing in old, clean nylons, or make a small donation to help with the cost of shipping.
